Bioidentical Hormone Replacement

Bioidentical hormones are compounds that are structurally identical to the hormones naturally produced in the human body. Derived from plant sources such as soy or yams, these hormones—commonly estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone—are synthesized to match the molecular structure of hormones produced by the body. They are used in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to alleviate symptoms of hormonal imbalance, for both men and women. Unlike synthetic hormones, bioidentical hormones are believed to be more compatible with the body's natural hormone receptors, potentially resulting in fewer side effects.
